Date/Venue

The tournament will take place on Saturday, January 2nd, 2010, from 2 PM to 7 PM 7:30 PM, at the Fieldhouse in Shelburne, VT. Please visit the Resources/Directions page for directions.

Registration/Payment

Registration for EYY 2010 will be open from 12/14/09. Please register before 12/22/09 if possible; It will help us make the right tournament format decision, and it will help us place a more accurate shirts order (which must be placed at the latest on 12/23/09.)

First registered, first served.

With the field time that we have, we can accomodate 4, 5, or 6 teams. Based on the number of people who will have registered by end of day on December 22nd, 2009, the number of teams in the tournament will be determined, as well as the rosters. Update 12/23/09: 92 people registered by end of day on 12/22/09, therefore we decided to go with a 6-team format.

Update 12/28/09: The hard caps for each of the 6 teams will be 12 men and 5 women.

Players who register after 12/22/09 will be placed on teams closest in age range that still have room on them, if any. If the only team(s) with open spots are not in your age range, we'll ask you to reconfirm your interest in registering. However, since we must place the shirts order at the latest by the 23rd, players who register after the 22nd are not guaranteed a shirt.

The cost is $15/player, and it includes field food as well as a T-shirt! The only method of payment accepted through the pre-registration system is PayPal. Note re PayPal: You do not need to have a PayPal account. And, if you have a PayPal account, signing on to it is optional. You will also be given the option to pay with a credit card without signing on to a PayPal account.

The registration system is a simple two-step process. Note that it is not possible to register now and pay later. Both steps have to be completed in the same visit.

Please do not sign up if you’re not sure you can be present. Since there’s a cap and a lot of interest, it could prevent someone else from signing up, we could end up with empty spots at the tournament, and it’d make logistics more difficult. Please note that it is not our policy to hold spots or issue refunds to no-shows. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

Seeking Volunteers

Please contact GMDA Board Member Steve Daniels (sdanielsvt@comcast.net) if you're interested and available in helping out in any of the following capacities:

1) Human Traffic Coordinator: We need a couple people to greet players as they enter the Fieldhouse to herd everyone to the proper location for getting team assignments, picking up a shirt, etc. Qualifications include a cheerful disposition accompanied by an iron will, and the ability to show up 5 or 10 minutes before 2pm. Players and non-players alike are welcome.

2) Setup and Breakdown Specialists: We need a couple people to help put out food and doing general setup prior to the tournament. Similarly, we need a few people to help pack things up at the end, including making sure we leave the fields how we found them. Qualifications include an unmatched passion to either set things up or break things down, and the ability to either show up 5 to 10 minutes early or stay a few minutes late. Players and non-players alike are welcome.

3) Videographer: We need one or two non-players who can record game footage from this event. We will provide the camera and a brief overview of all the important buttons on the camera. Qualifications include the serenity to accept the plays you cannot record, the courage to record the plays you can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Extra bonus: Free tournament t-shirt for any non-player videographer!
